Now, chamber members of all sizes can offer their employees a new benefit that can save them money on their personal auto and homeowners insurance. You won't pay a cent or even do any work. This is a completely voluntary program available to everyone from large companies all the way down to sole proprietors. Employees can receive up to a 25% discount* on both their auto and home insurance from Arbella Insurance Company. (Basic group discount is 5%. This can be increased by an additional 10% when placing both home & auto insurance with Arbella. An additional 10% is applied when elgible for Arbella's Incident Free Credit).

Connecticut Small Business Development Center

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Connecticut State University System, public and private partners throughout Connecticut. The mission of SBDC is to promote and encourage the creation and growth of small business, by providing sound business advice through free, professional counseling, seminars, technical assistance and education for business owners and entrepreneurs, in one-on-one or group training environments, throughout Connecticut.




Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development

The Department of Economic and Community Development develops and implements strategies to attract and retain businesses and jobs, revitalize neighborhoods and communities, ensure quality housing and foster appropriate development in Connecticut's towns and cities.




The Downtown Business District (DBD) is a special services district created in 2001 following a successful referendum of property owners located within the proposed district boundaries. The members are committed to supporting commerce, culture and community in the Downtown Business District and a Board of Commissioners oversees the operation of the district, which is funded by a property tax.




Middlesex County Revitalization Commission

As the Revitalization Commission continues to address regional economic development issues and focuses on the revitalization of manufacturing and commercial districts of Middlesex County. The Revolving Loan Fund is available through the Revitalization Commission and is designed to encourage business growth that results in the retention or creation of jobs in the region.




The Middlesex County Substance Abuse Action Council (MCSAAC) is a public-private partnership committed to improving the quality of life in our towns. We bring together diverse populations of the community to reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug or substance abuse. MCSAAC’s goal is to promote community-based substance abuse prevention programs throughout Middlesex County. MCSAAC accomplishes this by supporting the efforts of 11 Local Prevention Councils and 13 Youth Leadership Councils across the County.




Middletown Small Business Development Center

The Middletown Small Business Development Center provides one-on-one business counseling and entrepreneurial educational opportunities to prospective business owners. This program is for Middletown residents or individuals looking to start a business in Middletown only.




The goal of the tourism district is to promote Connecticut's River Valley as a vacation and sight-seeing destination for visitors to the New England region. Connecticut's River Valley is located along the Connecticut River, which winds its way up from the Long Island Sound over the hills and rolling valleys, through Greater Hartford and to the Canadian border. In any season, this is a picturesque and exciting location.




Our counselors are experienced business people who volunteer their time to provide expert advice to small business owners and entrepreneurs helping them "Live Their Dreams". SCORE® assists businesses in Connecticut, from general management and operations to promotional campaigns and internet marketing.




Side Street to Main Street

Sponsored by the Aetna Foundation in collaboration with the Middlesex Chamber and the ESSEX Group, Side Street to Main Street is a business and leadership development program designed to help small, minority owned businesses in our community become successful.
