The Middletown Small Business Development Center (MSBDC) is a partnership of the City of Middletown and the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce to increase business opportunities for Middletown residents and businesses located in Middletown. The MSBDC provides one-on-one business counseling and entrepreneurial educational opportunities to prospective business owners.
During the past year, MSBDC has met with 210 individuals, approximately one third of which are presently in business, and conducted a monthly Exploring Small Business Ownership workshop on Monday evenings at the chamber for those considering becoming an entrepreneur. Businesses have ranged from start-up sole proprietors to long established Middletown employers seeking guidance on marketing in a down economy. MSBDC has assisted a number of firms with financing, either from their own bank or non-bank lenders, with
guidance throughout the application process.
