The Westbrook Division met in November and December.  November's meeting featured Dan Cave, a member of the Chamber's Health Care Council.  He briefed members on the Council's Health Literacy Ask Me 3 initiaitve.  Ask Me 3 is a quick and effective tool designed to improve communication between patients and providers. Ask Me 3 provides three simple but essential questions that patients should ask their providers in every health care interaction.  This was an interactive meeting that provoked a thoughtful conversation on what employers can do to save money on health care.

December's agenda focused on local issues facing residents and businesses in town.  One of the items that generated much discussion was the trend of commercially zoned property along the Route 1 corridor becoming residential units.  Another was the proposal by Superintendent Patricia Charles and the Westbrook Public School System to enhance security features at the schools. Other matters discussed included the upcoming budget process and the progress of the Town Garage/Train Station project.

January's meeting will be held on January 22nd at 8:00 a.m. at the Westbrook Middle/High School.  Hosted by Superintendent Charles, the meeting will feature speaker Priscilla Wood from the Connecticut Audubon Society, who will brief members on the upcoming Eagle Festival.
